In Lakota, we say Mitákuye Oyásiŋ — We are all related. These words remind us that every person, every family, and every part of our community is connected through shared responsibility, compassion, and respect.
The Substance Use Recovery Initiative and the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Adult Corrections Facility believe deeply in this teaching. Our work isn’t just about recovery — it’s about restoring connection. It’s about showing up for our relatives, standing together in healing, and being part of something greater than ourselves.
That’s why we want to remind our relatives: invite us to your events. We are part of your community, too. Our team would be honored to attend, lend a hand, set up an informational booth, serve a meal, or simply sit and listen. Whether it’s a wellness fair, school event, cultural gathering, or community meal — we’re here to walk alongside you.
When we come together, we help each other heal. Each event, each handshake, each shared moment reminds us that recovery and wellness belong to everyone.
Let’s continue to build bridges — between programs, between families, and between hearts. Together, we can strengthen our people and our Nation.
If your community or organization is hosting an event and would like to include us, please reach out to:
We look forward to joining you — because we are all related, and we are stronger together.
